The Sparkling Recording Story! It all started in the 1980s When I wrote The Third Battle Of Manassas. I later changed the name of that song to The CLM Special. Barry W. Bittinger — AKA — K. JiG Boone is a solo Artist. His first 6 songs were recorded in the Studio of Jeff King. Later, Two songs were recorded in Winchester, Va. The rest were recorded in Manassas, Va. There are a number of people to thank for the help Bittinger received. Richard and Irene Gegenheimer, Irene actually chose some of the wording for the CLM Special. Tex Rabinowitz helped make the first recording and suggested that I start a Publishing Company. Tex is a Rockabilly artist. Rocky from Sun Plastics (where the first Records were pressed) made me get a Record Label. I didn't know You had to have Your own label to put on the records. The schooling didn't end there. The Logo was also his suggestion. Frank Knapp, A wonderful Friend I met at Gegenheimers, stayed quietly in the background saving about 300 of the first records I had made. All of the ones I had, went up the chimney, Yes I burned the first 3000 records that were made. Frank saved the records he had and gave them back to me several years later. Nothing against anybody, I'm just picky and we were low on firewood. It's been a long time since the First Records were pressed. The following are the names of some interesting people, that sent me some follow-up letters: Joe
Gibbs [1]

[3] The Letters I received are displayed For You to see. Many others were involved at first. Jeff King did the first studio work for Me. Larry Barker always was there to Play the Steel Guitar. Lavern Gwaltney, Did a real nice job on the fiddle. Bones Short played the bass on The Kingdom Train. And there were several others, I can't remember their names. I still thank these folks for their help. On 9-9-99 I changed the Record company name from Sparkling Records To Sparkling Recordings. Anyway If You Buy The CD or cassette I hope You enjoy. I'll be trying to get some more done for You to hear. Check back often for tips on tuning and playing stringed instruments together. Last but Not Least, If You want My Music Don't Copy it, Please Buy it. A bag of Apples wouldn't make much sense if You only paid the farmer for one apple, then stole the rest or gave them all away! And could You do that to a friend? OK OK we just Met! I won't put a worm in Your apple if You don't copy My recordings. Y'all have a nice time, I hope I can help some of You to learn to play stringed instruments. See tips section. Your Friend |
